Oftentimes, we have to do things to produce now revenue that are not things that we’ll be doing later on. Your now game is not your forever game.
Too many entrepreneurs are focused on significance-driven or ego-driven activities like building fan bases, working on social media, writing a book, doing a podcast. There’s nothing wrong with that, but they are long-game strategies. If you want to make money in the next 90 days, it’s not going to be those things; it’s going to be something else.
So in the beginning stages of your business, the No. 1 thing to do is focus on the activities that will produce cash flow. The second most important thing is creating predictability. Because if you can be producing cash flow consistently, even if it’s not a lot of money, that will move you forward out of financial insecurity.
